FIRST BEETALOO GAS COMMISSIONED FOR THE NORTHERN TERRITORY
Tamboran Resources Corporation has today announced the commissioning of first gas from its Shenandoah South Pilot Project (SS2), marking a major milestone for Tamboran, its joint venture partner Daly Waters Energy (DWE), and the Northern Territory.
The milestone coincides with the commissioning of the Sturt Plateau Compression Facility (SPCF), which will enable Beetaloo gas to enter the Northern Territory pipeline network and begin making its way north to Darwin in the coming days.
The commencement of supply will deliver the first gas from the Beetaloo Basin for use in the Northern Territory, providing a new source of locally produced energy to help power Territory homes and businesses.
Tamboran Resources Chief Executive Officer Todd Abbott said the commissioning represented a defining moment following more than a decade of investment and development in the Beetaloo Basin.
“We made a promise to Territorians that the first gas from the Beetaloo would be theirs. Today, we have reached the milestone that puts us just days away from delivering on that commitment,” Mr Abbott said.

“Our first gas demonstrates that the Beetaloo can be developed and connected to market. For us, that is an incredibly important milestone, but it is also just the beginning.
“This first phase is about strengthening energy security for the Territory while supporting local jobs, investment and economic activity.
“The next phase is about demonstrating repeatability, continuing to drive efficiencies and building scale.
“More than A$1 billion has been invested in the Beetaloo Basin over the past decade to get us here. Developing an entirely new gas province does not happen overnight. It requires sustained investment, persistence and a long-term commitment to turning the potential of the Basin into something that delivers real benefits for Territorians.

“We are particularly proud of the opportunities this project is creating on Country and the contribution of Native Title Holders, local communities and Territory businesses who have helped us reach this milestone.
“Commissioning first gas is an incredibly significant achievement, but it is also just the beginning. We believe the Beetaloo Basin has the potential to become a major new source of gas supply, delivering long-term benefits for the Northern Territory and, over time, playing an important role in Australia’s and the Asian region’s energy security.”
The SS2 Pilot Project represents the first step in Tamboran’s development of the Beetaloo Basin and will provide important production data to support the company’s longer-term development plans.
